My hope is that the project will continue, as it is an amazing opportunity to revive the downtown core of Kelowna. Watching for updates from the engineers, UBC has the money and opportunities to make it right.
I am surprised that the city is quiet on this and engineers are not providing any solutions after months of trouble. It's unclear how this will affect the future of high-rise developments in Kelowna, or if it will impact just that particular part of downtown.
I hope projects like Water By The Park succeed, so people don't blame all high-rises, but rather this instance, due to the large underground parkade.

This is very sad that it continue to cause problems, as I would like this project to succeed. There has been no updates on construction, which they promised, however it creates more problems and I start to worry they reconsider the whole thing.

C-Lovers is relocating to the Capri Mall as well.
True, good it's finally moving forward. As for the tenants, it was recently announced JYSK is returning to Kelowna to Orchard Plaza (instead of Rooms + Spaces).
Overall about building sizes, I am sad that a lot of those projects in Kelowna are just 6 storeys. Feels like it's going to be a problem for the city in 20 years, after it will run out of space.

Absolutely love it! Needs to be expedited for approval and build it faster to replace the empty lot in such a prominent space downtown. It's great to see no podium, which is very different for the city.
btw the application file was apploaded now with details

Love to see a strip mall getting torn down (hope the tenants make out alright) but i wish they went bigger with the buildings considering the central location.

Development Permit application was filed with the city by Mark Anthony Group few days ago: "A 12 storey hotel with 72 roooms, including amenity spa, 11th floor restaurant parking off-site, and rooftop amenity lounge."
This would be a nice addition to the downtown, located on an infamous heritage site, with a brick wall held by metal scaffolding.
